Government Affairs August 2009 meeting

Topic: DeKalb County Government Affairs Council

Presented by ATT

Topic: Water and Its Role in Future Economic Development

Georgia faces the possibility of losing metropolitan Atlanta's main water source if political leaders can't broker a solution with Alabama and Florida over rights to a major reservoir within three years. That horrific scenario would cut off water from Lake Lanier for more than 3 million residents, driving a stake through the heart of Atlanta's decades of rampant growth and threatening one of the Southeast's main economic engines amid a sour economy.

Business, community, and civic leaders are encouraged to attend what will be an information and thought provoking conversation on Water and its impact on future development.

Date and Time: August 27, 2009, 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM

Location:
Cornerstone Bank - Conference Room - 125 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030.

There is no cost to attend. Meeting open to the public.
